Currently in India, over half of the population has a cellphone but only a third can access toilets. In a country where major causes of child mortality are diarrhea and other water-borne diseases, the need for access to clean water and sanitation is paramount.
Through this forum, we hope to examine the barriers to providing clean water for the population in India. We hope to examine such issues as the effects of insufficient sanitation on health and education, the efficacy of government interventions, and overall, where the future of clean water and adequate sanitation lies in India.
