Asha was founded in Berkeley in 1991 with the goal of providing basic education to underprivileged children in India. In the years since its inception, the organization has grown to having chapters all over the United States, Europe, and India.
Asha-Berkeley is currently supporting 5 projects in India and disburses more than $30,000 each year. The diverse projects supported by Asha Berkeley are situated in the most neglected parts of India.
Asha for Education has managed to live up to the dreams of its founders and demonstrated that it is possible for a few dedicated individuals to improve the lives of many others to a great extent, and make the world a better place to live in.
