Dear Colleagues

Mario Steiner passed about 1.5 years ago. He had lived a  long and in a number of ways, complex life that was not easy to condense into a meaningful story. Last year, Adriana Carbone and  I worked to correct this omission and have assembled a basic outline of Mario’s life and his achievements. This memorial  will appear in the next Exploration Trends and Developments coming out next week. A copy of this is attached. An expanded version will come out later in the year on the KEGS’s History Channel.

With the closing off of Mario’s story, we felt that a visit to a local pub next week for an ‘honorary’ ‘tipping of a pint’ for Mario would be a suitable gesture to say good-bye to a very special friend and colleague.

As we  assembled Mario’s story, we recognized just how exceptional a person he was. Looking to the animal kingdom for a suitable analogy, we felt assigning Mario the name ‘Silver Fox’ captured our dear friend’s spirit.
