Hi all, does anyone have experience with, or insight into the MagNIMBUS drone-portable magnetometer, in comparison with the (arguably industry standard) Magarrow? The MagNIMBUS uses QuSpin sensors in single or vertical gradiometer geometry.

Cheers,

Chris

Hello SEGMIN,

Can anyone please recommend an airborne magnetics survey provider currently operating in West Africa other than Xcalibur Smart Mapping and New Resolution Geophysics?

Cheers,

Regis.

Hi Regis,

If you want to go for drone survey, Flightec Solutions is a good candidate with whom we deal out of Namibia. Flightec and Terratec Geophysical are semi-related entities.

Thanks everyone for the info.

And just to clarify, I did not discount NRG and Xcalibur, I was just already aware of them!

Cheers,

Regis.

Hi Folks

I have a client looking for contractors capable of providing drone mag in Peru with demonstrated success surveying over nasty terrain.

Grateful for any recommendations

Regards

Hello John,
The drone operators over there that we have used are all scared to drape topography and usually fly super high in rugged terrain, they fly small line-of-sight survey patches that can get omitted due to lack of ground access, the patches take time to fly and stitch, and acquisition is not cheap compared to North America, Africa or Australia.
If covering a decent sized area, go helimag, and get rads, which are often more valuable than the mags.
Aside from the costly helicopter mob/demob, the helimag+rad survey line km rate is generally not much more than drone surveying in South America.
These guys have done great work for our clients in Peru and Chile, and they provide excellent coms during surveying:
Regards,
Jayson

Hi John, check out Kevin McNabb of MWH geophysics. They have worked in that terrain recently
Cheers,
