Bug: Phrase searches are treated as AND searches

Hi, 

When I search using (1) ti:"electron thermal conductivity" and using (2) ti:electron + AND + ti:thermal + AND + ti:conductivity, both return 88 results, which means they behave the same. It seems that phrase searches are being treated as AND searches.
Do you have any plans to update the API to address this?
If this is not an API issue and my method for performing phrase searches is incorrect, I would appreciate it if you could let me know the correct way to perform a phrase search.

(1) ti:"electron thermal conductivity"

https://export.arxiv.org/api/query?search_query=ti:%22electron%20thermal%20conductivity%22

(2) ti:electron + AND + ti:thermal + AND + ti:conductivity

Hi Taka,

The syntax you are using is correct.

Yes, the phrase searches appear to be ANDs, and we will update the api.

Do you have any estimate of when the API will be updated? Depending on the timing, I would like to decide whether to wait for the update or proceed with the work as it is now.  

I really appreciate all the work you do to develop and maintain the API service.

Phrase searches should be working now, ie:

curl -si https://export.arxiv.org/api/query\?search_query\=ti:electron+AND+ti:thermal+AND+ti:conductivity | grep totalR
  88
curl -si https://export.arxiv.org/api/query\?search_query\=ti:%22electron+thermal+conductivity%22+AND+ti:electron | grep totalR
  23

I wasn't sure when we would have time for this fix, so didn't have an estimate...
