Hi all,

I am looking for OER on mythology and folklore. Any recommendations on open resources or faculty to connect with are appreciated!

Thanks,
Amy

Hi Amy,

It's not exactly what you may be looking for, but how about Bulfinch's Mythology? It was the standard text for all of the mythology courses I took.

I very vaguely remember a CCCOER Advisory Committee meeting from like two years ago where the American Public University Librarians were working on something related to folklore. It might have been that they were working with the anthologies of World Lit that you see here:

There are some great myths in these collections.

Hi, Amy!

Here's a libguide I made for our mythology course.  Some of it links to subscription ebooks and databases, but there are lots of links that are freely available.

Hope this helps a little!

Hi all, I just wanted to share a roundup of the great responses I got to this question.

Primary source-wise, D.L. Ashliman has a really excellent collection
of folktexts: http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/folktexts.html

Look on the lower right of this page for topics...

It's not exactly what you may be looking for, but how about Bulfinch's Mythology? It was the standard text for all of the mythology courses I took. Here's an Amazon Kindle version I downloaded completely free: http://www.amazon.com/Bulfinchs-Mythology-Fable-Thomas-Bulfinch-ebook/dp/B004TPB9CU/ref=sr_1_3?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1441307992&sr=1-3&keywords=bulfinch+mythology
