**Apologies for duplication**
For over two decades ARL has offered LibQUAL as a resource to assess service quality in libraries. As technology, methods, and the survey product landscape have changed over time, ARL has examined its role, capabilities, and priorities in this space. After considering several factors and weighing various options for how to move forward, ARL, in consultation with and approval by its Board of Directors, has decided to sunset its administration of the LibQUAL program at the end of 2025.
As ARL looks toward new opportunities and services, we thank all involved with the creation and sustainment of the LibQUAL platform. We also thank those who have implemented LibQUAL surveys over the years and the research community who published scholarly works and moved the assessment field forward.
While the details of this action are being finalized, ARL will provide additional information about LibQUAL, data, login access, etc. as it becomes available. In the meantime, please refer to the frequently asked questions below for the latest information.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I continue to have access to my data through LibQUAL’s platform after 2025?
ARL is currently working through the details and options for continued access to LibQUAL data. More information will be provided as it becomes available, but the current plan is to no longer provide support after 2025. In the meantime, ARL provides the ability for current and past customers to download their data for long-term storage.
I purchased a LibQUAL engagement under the impression that LibQUAL would be my long-term assessment tool. Without the assurance of access to future LibQUAL surveys, I no longer want to run LibQUAL in 2025. What options are available for me?
What will happen to my LibQUAL Membership Subscription?
Access for all subscription purchases made in 2025 will terminate at the end of 2025. Refunds are available for subscription purchases made in calendar year 2025 if the discontinuation of LibQUAL affects the utility of the membership subscription. Contact
lib...@arl.org for refund requests.
What will happen to LibQUAL after 2025?
ARL is currently exploring options for another entity to take over the LibQUAL platform. While there are no current plans in place, ARL will provide any information as it becomes available. If LibQUAL is not transferred it will no longer be available as a service quality assessment option.
