The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is located on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of the Dakota and Anishinaabe peoples. I acknowledge that the United States government failed to uphold the 1805, 1837, and 1851 treaties with the Dakota nation, which made possible the founding of our university through the Morrill Land Grant Act.
