Good morning!

Sharing in case you haven’t see this. I also highly recommend the Student Affairs Assessment Leaders listserv (SAA-Leaders Listserv). It’s another great source for professional development, job postings, best practices, etc.

Good Morning!  I hope this email finds you healthy and well.

Gavin Henning and I are excited to announce a call for authors for chapters in Maximizing the Impact of Assessment in Higher Education: Closing the Loop with Change Management to be published by Routledge Publishing.

All change is not created equal, nor are all change efforts equally successful. Additionally, the assessment cycle step that is least discussed but most difficult to implement is using assessment data for change and improvement. This practical book links together the assessment process with change management frameworks for leaders and readers to set themselves and their institutions up for greater success.

The book will cover the following topics:

·       Change Management Theories– Lewin, Kotter, Bridges & Bridges, Backwards Design

·       Organizational Culture and Its Impact on Change Management through Assessment

·       Institutional and Structural Barriers to Change

·       The Learning Organization and Changing for Good

·       Linking Assessment Practice to Change Leadership

·       Evaluating Evidence and Causal Inference

·       Measuring Change

·       Examples in Practice

o   Institutional

o   Accreditation

o   Academic Affairs

o   Student Affairs

o   Case Studies in Mid-Management Success

o   Partnering with Students

A more detailed overview of the book can be found here

Key dates for the book include:

·       9/8/23: Form due from potential authors

·       10/1/23: Author decisions announced

·       1/1/24: 1st drafts due

If you are interested in being considered to author a chapter in this book, please complete the form found here by the end of the day September 8th, 2023.

Feel free to reach out to myself or Gavin with any questions.

Sincerely,

Cindy
