Hello,
The BYU Library conducts regular reviews of each department within the library on a rotating basis (one department per semester). Our process includes a departmental self-study guided by a template used for the self study and the final report, a local internal review team, surveys, interviews, and an external reviewer. The intent of the review is to be able to describe the value of the department (acknowledge the good and meaningful work that they do) and to provide recommendations to help them improve what and how they do things. Library leadership has decided that it is time to reexamine our internal review process.
If your library conducts a similar review, I would appreciate receiving any documents along with a brief description of the process you use to inform the discussions by our library leadership.
Thank you in advance.

This idea seems intriguing – much like the regular evaluations of academic programs. We do not do this, but I’m interested in your processes and evaluation criteria. I’m also interested in the concerns that the leadership has in this process.
