The PJ rates are ½ the corporate limit rates. Currently, the City of Samson only levies sales and use taxes. Texas Texas will hold its annual Emergency Preparation Supplies Sales Tax Holiday from April 25 through April 27. During this holiday certain specified emergency preparation supplies are tax free. USING QUICKBOOKS: SHIPPING QuickBooks offers two ways to add shipping charges to an invoice, and the method you choose determines how tax is applied. Option 1: Use the shipping box (default) When you turn on shipping, a shipping box appears on your invoice. This box automatically applies the taxability rules for the relevant location, based on a common shipping arrangement: the shipping fee is optional, and ownership of the goods transfers to the buyer at their location. If that matches how you ship, the shipping box is all you need. Option 2: Use a shipping tax category (line item method) If your shipping arrangement is different (for example, ownership transfers at your location before the item ships), you should use a shipping tax category instead of the shipping box. Here's how: Create a new service item for your shipping charge. Instead of selecting "Taxable, Standard Rate," assign the service to one of the shipping tax categories listed below. Add that service as a line item on your invoice. Do not use the shipping box. This gives QuickBooks the information it needs to apply the correct tax rules for your specific shipping method. Available shipping tax categories:
Information on how to map to a tax category may be found here.
Please note that these are the changes that have been released by the states as of the date of this e-mail and there is a possibility other small changes could be enacted late or retroactively by the states. QuickBooks has been updated to account for these changes. Now you will get the updated rates and rules applied automatically to your invoice. Click below to try it out.
