Request for Comments: Pluggable monitors

We are inviting input from all interested parties on another RFC.

With the introduction of Pluggable Discovery, it becomes possible for Arduino boards platforms to add support for new types of channels for the Arduino development software to use to communicate with boards. The Arduino IDE's integrated Serial Monitor will not be appropriate for use with new "port" types. It now becomes necessary to support "monitor" tools designed for any arbitrary communication channel used by Arduino boards.

This RFC presents the proposed approach for "pluggable monitors".
