Hi all!

We refactored the library submission process to make it leaner, more automated and more transparent. Instead of having people open an issue on the Arduino IDE repository to be handled manually by someone from the Arduino team, we now have a dedicated GitHub repository containing the index file. Submitting a new library is now as easy as opening a pull request with the URL to be added, and a bot based on arduino-lint will perform checks, provide feedback and merge the PR once passing. Documentation and FAQs were also updated and cleaned up.

More info here:

Best,

@Alessandro,

Does this mean the old "ïssue" way has stopped working? or per some date?

It is important to note that there is a github action that does the Arduino-lint so one can check its library before submitting.

hi!

this is great! we posted here:
https://blog.adafruit.com/2021/06/07/new-arduino-library-manager-submission-update-system/

(special thanks to cmaglie for working on the libs all these years!)

on our post, and here, we'll make the request we've had for a bit... the download count.

this helps developers maintain the open-source libraries for arduino, and know what is being used – there are download logs somewhere (anonymized).

thanks,
pt
