Hi,

I've packaged a release candidate 1.6.0rc2, the links for download at
the bottom of the email.

We've just found and fixed an issue that could potentially affect a lot
of Windows users, but this issue went unnoticed from the first round of
tests (rc1).
We kindly ask to test the provided files, if possible on PCs that are
not used for development (I'm wondering if some teachers may try it in a
whole class of students, that would be a wonderful test).

Thanks!
C

Opps! A pushed send a bit too fast. Sorry about that.

The build is for 32-bit linux variant of 1.6.0rc2 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and the benchmarks are run on an ATmega328P based board (Anarduino Miniwireless).

Cheers! Mikael

Hi Cristian,

Sorry I have no feedback. My first set of students met before rc2 was released, and my second set already had Arduino installed from a former class.

I was just about to reinstall Windows and change over to 64 bit on my primary machine so perfect timing.
  • Windows 7 Ultimate x32 on system that has Arduino previously - no issue with blink, project using TFT LCD + DHT11 + calculations ok (Arduino Uno)
  • Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - fresh install - drivers installed ok, blink ok, project using TFT LCD + DHT11 + calculations ok (Arduino Uno)

sam SPI is missing the atomicity patch...
Other than that, Linux-32bit works fine.

I am currently testing with  raspberry pi. It works so far, just that you have to fix the avrdude path. Not sure if that can be solved with the IDE itself. I'd be nice if the new IDE will be available without that manual compiling and patching.
