Are there any plans to implement a watchdog timer interface that would work across all families (AVR, Due, Zero, etc.)? This is really a critical feature for many embedded applications.

I did a watchdog patch for Arduino Due.
Unfortunately, now that Arduino are not publishing all the source files for Zero, which is a basic requirement for an Open Source project, I am not inclined to do anything further.
I can understand why Arduino are abandoning Open Source, but it's a damn shame.
