Hi All,
Apologies for cross-posting! I wanted to pass along an upcoming free panel discussion hosted by Educopia that I thought might be relevant to this community; details are below:
Across libraries, archives, presses, and preservation programs, people are doing more with less, often in isolation, while problems that were always systemic have become impossible to ignore. We don't think the answer is to keep bracing for the next emergency on our own. It's to get better at seeing the systems we're part of, and at acting on them together.
Join Educopia for Systems Leadership for Knowledge Equity [registration link] , a free 90-minute virtual panel discussion with four people who have been doing exactly that:Each of our panelists work in the connective tissue of our field, in coalitions, networks, and partnerships, where much of the most meaningful change actually happens.
The conversation will weave together three threads:- Surfacing the Cracks: How the past year and a half has exposed and deepened systemic challenges and structural inequities across knowledge infrastructure, labor and the sector.
- Building Sustainable Knowledge Work: What fairly compensated, community-facing work looks like, the conditions that make it possible, and what we and our colleagues can do to move the field in that direction.
- Courage and Collective Power: Recognizing who is leading with courage right now, and strengthening new and existing relationships to build power together.
You don’t need a leadership title to belong in this conversation. If you work in libraries, archives, museums, publishing, preservation, or the infrastructure that connects them, we hope you’ll bring your questions, your experience, and your hopes into the room with us. You'll leave with a fresh way of seeing your own corner of the ecosystem, real examples to learn from, and the reminder that many others care about the same things you do.
Key Details:This panel builds on Educopia's
Systems Leadership Interview Series and Practicing Systems Leadership workshops.
My best,
