The Digital Preservation Awards 2026 continue to welcome nominations for the inspiring people, projects, and initiatives shaping the digital preservation field.
Organized by the
Digital Preservation Coalition every two years, the Awards celebrate achievements from across the global digital preservation community. They recognize the dedication and collaboration that underpin this work and shine a light on the many ways individuals and organizations contribute to a sustainable future for our digital assets.
In 2026, nominations are invited across the following categories, including a new Award:
Collaboration and Cooperation
- Research and Innovation
- Teaching and Communications
- Most Distinguished Student Work in Digital Preservation
- Safeguarding the Digital Legacy
- Most Outstanding Digital Preservation Initiative in Commerce, Industry and the Third Sector
New for 2026: Resilience, Maintenance, and Continuity
Winners receive a trophy for their institution, certificates for participating individuals, and a £1000 cash prize. The student award offers a travel grant to attend an international conference in 2027.
Entry is free and open to organizations, projects, and individuals at all stages of their digital preservation journey, from anywhere in the world.
Nominations close at 09:00 (UTC) on Tuesday 5 May 2026.
