Community-Developed Cloud Preservation Strategies from iPRES 2025

Dear APTrust Members,

At iPRES 2025, APTrust and California Digital Library co-facilitated a workshop on cloud-based digital preservation that resulted in a collaboratively developed set of good practices.

After more than a decade of operating in the cloud, we wanted to share practical strategies with the community and learn from others' experiences. Participants from around the world contributed insights on cost management, preservation workflows, and DevOps approaches.

The collaborative document addresses:

• FinOps strategies for cost tracking and budget planning
• Trust, fixity, and replication in cloud environments
• DevOps workflows and automation approaches
• Data sovereignty and shared language challenges

We invite you to:
