Announcing Apptainer 1.4.2

Apptainer 1.4.2 is now available, fixing a few bugs. The most significant fix is restoring the functionality of looking up registry mirrors in system configuration files. Also, separate debian packages for Debian 13 are now in the release assets. Complete details are in the release announcement at

apptainer-1.4.2 is now available in the epel-testing dnf repository and the Fedora updates-testing dnf repository. Please test it if you can and report problems you find. If no problems are found it will be promoted to the stable repositories in about a week. It is also now current in the Ubuntu PPA.

It can also be installed with "tools/install-unprivileged.sh -v 1.4.2'. For installation details see
