Good Morning,

We have users requesting the ability to share documents with a Google
group (distro list). It would make it a lot simpler and quicker than
attempting to type in names for a group that might contain 30 plus
users.

Saving the doc to hard drive and attaching to e-mail defeats the
purpose of sharing.

+1

A workaround we have been using is to make a shared folder(collection) for a group that needs to share docs, like project management, then when we create a doc that the whole group needs to have we put it in that collection which inherits the collection's sharing.

We do have to add folks one by one to the folder on initial setup though.

We also set up sharing permissions via collection and then add docs to the collection. However, I agree, it would be great to set up the collections (and occasional one off docs) via a Group rather than individually. This would be similar to how Find a Time works on Calendar when you invite a group to a meeting and it brings up the individuals' appointments.

Hi All,

This feature is definitely on our radar - it's actually more of a "known issue" (see this page).

We're currently working on a solution for this.

Thanks!
