We've had great success using ZenDesk for internal district as well as external facing regional support situations.

It has been particularly powerful in districts where the support team is small and over-taxed.

I know *you* probably are not burdened with this time problem, at NHS... but it is worth mentioning for the group since some people probably have techs that are over worked and under paid. (a little humor)

There is Google SSO integration which makes it a snap for users to sign in... and the overal performance as a support and ticketing tool is great.

Email integration and application intelligence is above average, on things from an agent forwarding a ticket from staff getting assigned properly to the staff - to replies on tickets get sent to requester as well as all listed as copied on the ticket.

We've had, used, and supported a large number of systems from JIRA, Kayako, Altiris, MSCSM, Infra, Tivoli, Kaseya to our own homebrew solutions and ZenDesk has been the best overall.

Open to questions if you're so inclined.

We are in the process of creating an internal support site for Google Apps and some other internal systems. I was hoping to find out what other organizations are using for the backend.  Sites? Blogger? Other?  We are starting from scratch so any recommendations would be helpful.  I would love to see some examples if they are public.

We are using an app called samanage.  http://www.samanage.com  Integrates real well with Google sign in and offers lots of options like asset management, contract management and change/relesse workflows.
