North Carolina Sea Grant, North Carolina Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) and the William R. Kenan Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science (KIETS) have announced a request for proposals for the 2024-25 Community Collaborative Research Grant program (CCRG), due January 24, 2025 at 5 p.m.

The CCRG supports coastal challenges and statewide water resource issues through a collaborative research approach that utilizes local ecological knowledge by requiring that projects couple local knowledge with scientific expertise. Successful proposals will include a two-person team (one scientific expert and one local knowledge expert) to lead the project and will justify the project's relevance to the mission(s) and interest(s) of one or more of the funding partners.

Awards will range between $5,000 and $25,000 for a 12-month project to begin May 15, 2025. Read the full RFP for more information.
