I’m writing to share the North Carolina Project Portal, an official State of North Carolina resource that connects state agencies, universities, and philanthropy around research questions vetted for public impact.
Two opportunities are open now and may be of interest to you:

Department of Natural & Cultural Resources economic impact analysis
This project aims to estimate the economic impact of DNCR sites and programs on North Carolina’s economy.
Info session: March 31, 2026, 3:00–3:55 PM ET. -
Division of Marine Fisheries design competition
This project entails a design competition to build a better way to collect harvested-fish data through a user-friendly reporting experience for recreational anglers.
Info session: April 2, 2026, 6:00–7:00 PM ET.
Each project page includes more detail, a way to RSVP for the upcoming info session, and a way to express interest even if you cannot attend.
Please feel free to share these opportunities with faculty, students, centers, institutes, or other collaborators who may want to engage.
FYSA more projects will soon be posted to the portal. Stay tuned. As a newly designed resource, we also welcome any feedback you have on how to improve the portal's design or content.
