11-13-25: Gallatin County Sheriff/Coroner Dan Springer Releases Name of Workplace Accident Victim

 

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Gallatin County Coroner’s Office along with the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office investigated a fatal workplace accident that occurred on a construction site within the Yellowstone Club. The decedent was unloading a pallet of sheetrock from a truck utilizing an integrated crane when the pallet fell off the crane and onto the decedent. The decedent was pronounced deceased on scene. The decedent was identified as 27-year-old Chance Dutcher of Bozeman. Chance’s cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries, and the manner is accidental.

Sheriff Springer wishes to express his deepest condolences to the family, co-workers, and friends of Chance Dutcher during this time.
