Keep the Water Flowing

GCEM Media Release

May 9, 2024

Bozeman, MT – The recent snow is likely to melt off very quickly in the next day or two due to warm temperatures and the possibility of limited rain.  Widespread flooding is not expected, but we are likely to isolated areas with water causing issues.  This is typically caused by the water being blocked from going where it is supposed to be and going where it is a problem.  Property owners are encouraged to ensure ditches and culverts are clear of debris.  Please check your property and monitor it while the snow melts so issues can be addressed when they start.  Our goal with spring snow events is to keep the water flowing when it melts!

Information on flooding is available at:  https://www.readygallatin.com/community-resources/preparedness-information/flooding-in-gallatin-county/
