Hello,

It recently came to our attention that Spring 5 is dropping portlet support. There was also some mention of it on this blog post. Has there been any discussion or prototyping about how to handle this change?

Daniel,

  - UW Madison has a very attractive (uPortal) UI based on AngularJS and non-portlet components
  - In addition, Unicon, Oakland, and some others are working on Soffits (alternative content standard):  https://github.com/drewwills/Soffit

Daniel,

We've worked with the Soffit technology this summer and I'm pretty pleased with how easy it is to work with and how flexible it is. This is definitely the direction we at Oakland want to go.
