Has anyone had this where they edit an announcement and click High Priority to email the site and no email shows up?

We are on version 11.4. I have an instructor who edited an Announcement and clicked Email notification High – All Participants but he never got the email of the announcement. He is concerned his students didn’t either since there has been no activity in his course.

I tested an update and a new message on one of my Test sites and I got the email, but still haven’t received the message from the BUS 503 site the instructor sent. Both sites are published, one is a new site for Summer 2018 and one is an older site that existed before the upgrade.  Is there maybe a setting we are missing for the term? Spring courses worked ok.

Any ideas?

Jennifer

We are on 11.4. The first thing I do when an instructor says an announcement didn’t go out is check the revision history for that announcement. It will tell you if Sakai thinks it was sent or not. (Ok, that’s the second thing I do. The first is to check if the course site is published, but you already did that.)

Thanks Kathy, we did check the revision history and he sent it about 5 times according to that history.  It looks the same as the one I sent from my test site that did go through.

There's some issues with editing as you have to re-click the notification priority to high priority, as it will always default back to none. There's no real good solution for this as the behavior is really to trigger an immediate action.

I haven't seen any issue where you edit, change the notification again and then it still doesn't go out, unless the announcement is hidden.

Thanks Matt, that is what we did, Edit and then click High priority but it doesn’t appear to have gone out to email. The announcement is not hidden.
