Thanks Neal for reply.

We can produce this issue in two ways.

First Way
1. login as admin
2. go to worksite setup
3. Click my workspace
4. Go to worksite setup
5. Click on New
6. In Create site section choose couse site option
7. It's display error "You are not in a maintainer role in any course sections. Therefore, you cannot create any course sites at this time."
8. continue button display, we can't proceed further.

Second Ways
1. login as admin
2. go to worksite setup
3. Click on New
4. In Create site section choose couse site option
5. It's display error "You are not in a maintainer role in any course sections. Therefore, you cannot create any course sites at this time."
6. continue button display, we can't proceed further.

Since continue button is displayed, so I can't do nothing further.

Thanks

I can not reproduce the problem on a nightly master qa server

http://nightly2.sakaiproject.org/ and choose Trunk (master) on Oracle or MySql.

I'm not understanding the difference between your first and second way. And, sorry to be nitpicky, but I don't see anything called "My Workspace" per step #3 in your first way. I just assume you mean the Worksite Setup tool.

Sorry I could not be of more help. If I get a chance later, I'll download the latest and try it locally.

Dear Neal,

I am getting this error, while in R & D , it's looks smooth. I have also shared environment details with you. As you are able to create it. Can you please tell me which nighly server instance you have attempted. Please also mention sakai, mvn, tomcat , java versions.

Thanks

Hi Shah,

For the nightly servers the details are located on http://nightly2.sakaiproject.org/

jre-1.8.0_77
maven 3.2.3
tomcat 8.0.32

Sakai master (rebuild was at 12:30 Eastern (-4 GMT) so any commits made before then.

This is normal.

To create course sites you have to have course sections setup.

Create a project site for now, then integrate course sections if you need them.

The sites are identical.

Sorry for necropost, but this is one of the first google results for this issue, and it is not very helpful.

For anyone else that has this issue, the fastest solution is adding -Dsakai.demo=true to your JAVA_OPTS variable on the setenv.sh file. This will automatically add course sections in your database, thus letting you create more course sites, the low point of doing this is that Sakai will then create 550 course sites (since it's demo), but then you can sort sites by course in Administration Workspace -> Site Editor, and bulk delete each of demo site courses.

Alternative solution is adding yourself data in the database for course sections and info, which will then enable course site creation in Sakai. I do not know which info specifically should go into the 'cm_' tables but a quick lookup can't hurt.

This is all well documented in the "Install Tomcat" section in the installation guide: https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/BOOT/Install+Tomcat+8

Hopefully this helps somebody to find a quick response to the problem in the future.
