Hello European board members, projects, and friends,
Apereo's panel session, "Seeds of Openness: How Higher Ed Grows the Future of Openness," was accepted for the Eclipse OCX conference (April 22nd). This panel presentation will highlight how institutions of higher education serve, and have always served, as fertile ground to cultivate open source software from ideas to implementation. Panelists will also share how the Apereo Foundation helps projects mature out of the academic environment and into the market.
I would like to invite you to participate in the session as a panelist.
During the session I would like to discuss 1. your experience in creating open source projects within universities, 2. building communities--not just technical, but academic and administrative supporters, 3. how project benefit from broader collaboration (beyond the campus with other institutions and/or other OSS projects) and, 4. how organizations like Apereo can help with all off the above.
Considering the OCX crowd, this should be a great opportunity to highlight your project(s), your institution's activities, and Apereo while promoting greater awareness and appreciation for higher education's role/impact on open source in Europe.
If you are interested, please let me know.
