Proposal: Remove all committers from Sakai Project in GitHub who have not committed or commented in the last 18 months

Hello Sakai PMC Members,

At today's Sakai PMC meeting, a proposal was introduced to remove all committers from the Sakai Project on GitHub who have not committed or commented in the last 18 months. Those present at the meeting reached a consensus in favor of this proposal.

We are now opening this to the mailing list for a formal vote to allow all PMC members to weigh in. Voting will be open for three working days and will follow the lazy consensus model, where no vote is considered an approval.

As a reminder, this is a public vote. Please use "+1" to signify approval, "0" to abstain, or "-1" to disapprove. Per our governance documents, any "-1" vote must be accompanied by a detailed explanation. A single "-1" vote based on a material objection will block the action, though it can be overridden by a 2/3 majority roll call vote of active PMC members.

Hi all, sorry I missed the meeting today. 

I changed the subject to keep this out of the other thread where voting is already occurring.  

Just to clarify, what does being "removed as a committer" actually mean? 

GitHub has 5 roles and we currently use three teams which use 3 of these roles. I believe the default is Read and we don't use Maintain.

• Assignees have Triage access which allows basic management but not write access.
• Committers have Write which allows for pushing and changing the project. 
• Sakai members have the Admin role, which allows full access.

Is this specific to being removed from this GitHub Committers team? Will users removed from that team be moved to a newly created team, an existing team like Assignees or just removed from the any team? 

Is there a plan to review and/or lower the role of Admins in the Sakai team?
