Has anyone looked into adding this to Sakai? (now in Canvas)

The WHOOPEE - Wharton Online Ordinal Peer Performance Evaluation

Engine

Students upload papers, and the system assigns to other students for anonymous evaluation and feedback, and uses custom algorithm to give collaborative grading results.

I don't know how we would add it.

The slides don't mention anything about availability of the WHOOPEE system. We do have Peer grading in Assignments but what we don't have is the WHOOPEE algorithm. It's not clear how the WHOOPEE algorithm is applied from a workflow or technical implementation, licensing , etc. It's not even clear that it is an option for us.

But, the slides are nice and point to some best practices in using technology for teaching and learning that should easily be applicable to Sakai.

Pedagogy first, then technology, as my friends in LAMP would say. :-)

Technically, Sakai has it all in there. Try the Student Pages in Lessons. It has rubrics, peer assessment feature, group aware, and anonymity feature. We just need to come up with a more catchy name better than WHOOPPEE.

SLURPEE

Ummmm... thirsty.

That's not trademarked is it?
It doesn't have to make sense does it?

LOL! I think SLURPEE is fine. As long as Whoopi Goldburg doesn't sue Wharton, SLURPEE is fine.

Yes, need to get a cold drink after work.
