when student doing exam in samigo-app, is it possible to disable the copy and paste operation in the text area?

disable them in the CKEditor config.js file?

Hi Ben,

There probably are some javascript libs to help achieving this but there is a plugin to samigo called respondus lock down browser which basically is a browser which prevents the user from doing certain things.

Many institutions use this to achieve the kinds of things that you're asking.

I agree with Earle

I doubt there's a way in CKEditor, though I'm sure you'd have to remove some of the buttons. You could maybe Google or look at Stack Overflow for some ideas for javascript. This seems like it would really break the user experience though. I also agree that this is the intent of something like Respondus Lock Down Browser that disables the clipboard and other applications entirely If the user has control of the computer they can remap the copy/paste keys and some OS's have a lot of alternative combinations so it could be hard to catch them all, and also sounds like it's hard to have it cross browser too.

 Thanks very much Earle!

By google the "respondus lockdown browser"  this afternoon, I found it that's a commercial product, and cannot find the jar needed.

1.
it said,
For example: samigo.secureDeliveryPlugins=/opt/tomcat/shared/lib/samigo-assessment-blocker-2.9-SNAPSHOT.jar

2.
I can't find the jar by google a lot of pages, finally, I found this link http://collab.sakaiproject.org/pipermail/sakai-dev/2012-April/016679.html,
it said "The client institution needs to ask Respondus for the appropriate JAR."

3.
By the way, I search  the string "Require Locked Browser"  in my local sakai source code, find it in some i18N property files.
due to this, I guess or can make sure that the samigo-app already integrated the lockdown browser.

Hi Ben,

Yeah the Respondus Lockdown Browser is a commercial add on https://www.respondus.com/products/lockdown-browser/

You could probably get a trial with them.
