Error in Sakai Deployment on Google Cloud

hello

I'm trying to deploy sakai on google cloud. This is my first deployment on the cloud so i'm not too versed with it. I keep getting the error that connection timed out and from what ive researched its cause the server is not able to connect to the sakai repository cause i'v tried connecting to google.com and it works well. Attached is the error im getting. Kindly assist please.

The code i run to deploy is:

cd ~/sakai
mvn clean install sakai:deploy -U -Dmaven.test.skip=true -Dmaven.tomcat.home=/opt/tomcat

Thanks for the help. I have tried to follow the steps there but i still get error that "The following artifacts could not be resolved: org.apache.ignite:ignite-hibernate-ext:pom:5.3.0 (absent): Could not transfer artifact org.apache.ignite:ignite-hibernate-ext:pom:5.3.0 from/to sakai-maven (https://source.sakaiproject.org/maven2): Connect to source.sakaiproject.org:443 [source.sakaiproject.org/52.26.228.88] failed: Connect timed out" when i run the code "sudo -E bash qmv.sh" to compile everything. 

I tried the code "curl -I https://source.sakaiproject.org/maven2" to check my connection to the maven repository but its not connecting and gives error "curl: (28) Failed to connect to source.sakaiproject.org port 443 after 135464 ms: Connection timed out".

Attached are images of the error. What I understand is that i'm not able to connect to the maven repository and get the  "ignite-hibernate-ext.pom5.3.0" file and that is what is hindering progress. Kindly help on the way to resolve it and move forward from here.

This might be if there are sakai hosted packages and its timing out.

Ok I understand. SO how can i resolve this. I am trying to see if I can manually download the file " org.apache.ignite:ignite-hibernate-ext:5.3.0" manually

Are you able to get to the URL in a browser

https://source.sakaiproject.org/ is where the files for this are stored.

I feel like I remember some instances of proxy servers or similar blocking access to this in the past, though I believe this is hosted on AWS S3 and is accessible no problem for me.

Yes I am able to access it on my browser but when i try to access it from my google cloud server terminal it keeps saying "failed: Connection timed out"

Hello,

I have been able to successfully deploy sakai and seen the success message that it was successful. However, when i go to the url with my Google cloud VM's external IP address:http://34.35.85.152:8080/portal -  I get the site can't be reached error. When i try to start tomcat with this code " /opt/tomcat/bin/startup.sh && tail -f /opt/tomcat/logs/catalina.out " the logs keep stopping at a particular point and does not move further again. Attached is a screenshot of the current point the logs keep stopping at.

Kindly assist please.
