using a pass-not pass test inside a points grading schema

I have a need for adding a pass-not pass test in a course where the schema is set to points.  Is this possible, and if so, how?  I have searched online and see references that suggest so, but upon investigate, I do not see that it Is.  Some of the responses could be hallucinations of AI.  Hard to tell.  Is it possible?
