softly deleted site option not available in Sakai 10.7

Hello Sakaigers,

We are testing Sakai 10.7 and notice that "Softly Deleted Sites" option is not available in Sakai 10.7.

We have been using this feature since Sakai 10.2. The properties is set as follows:

site.soft.deletion=true

site.soft.deletion.gracetime=30

Job scheduler is also set.

When I login as an admin, go to Worksite Setup, click View, I only can view "course Sites, project Sites, All My Sites, My Workspace Sites. I CANNOT see Softly Deleted Sites. Am I missing something?

Any helps would be greatly appreciated.

There was a bug that meant only an admin could see the item in the drop down. It was fixed a while ago but maybe, somehow, it didn't get merged into 10. Could that be what's wrong?

It looks like the UI option was never in 10? https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-22740

Maybe you had a local addition of this patch?

You are right. We did add this UI feature in Sakai10.2 and somehow I thought Sakai 10.7 has this feature.

I'm testing the back porting of this patch as well for 10.7 and I noticed that the following properties don't appear to be used anywhere in the site-manage code?

softly.deleted.already=One or more of the sites you selected are already marked for deletion and have been removed from your selection.

softly.deleted.already2=The site you chose has not been marked for deletion so no action is necessary.

I'm also wondering if the UI should allow for the hard deletion of a softly deleted site instead of relying on the Quartz job to do the purging?
