Hi all,

We are facing a unique -and quite strange- problem of "(actual) group membership/rights" vs "what is being displayed" on (at least) one tenant and I'd like your input before submitting an actual issue on Github.

Long story short:
    - A user JohnDoe has been added to a group G1 with "Manager" rights (or may even be the creator of said group, I'm not entirely sure)
    - When looking at the list of G1 members, JohnDoe is rightfully listed as a "manager"
    - However, in the "Manage access" modal, JohnDoe is still being listed as a member, but with the "member" option selected... all the while having the right to add/revoke/edit the existing rights (which means that he actually has the "manager" rights... it's just not being displayed as such).
    - JohnDoe has tried to switch the selected option to "manager" and "save" but when reopening the "manage access" modal, he's still being listed as a "member" (keeping his "manager rights" though).

I thought this was a "one-time" thing with a specific user (who is discovering/playing with the platform) with a specific group but I can actually see it happening on my profile, with one group (that I created, that's for sure).

Have you ever faced this kind of issue before? Do you have any idea of where the issue is coming from and/or what we can (try to) do to solve this on a large scale?

Thanks in advance,

MG

Hello,

I've tried reproducing the issue, but I can't. Is there more to the story you told below? Also, what do you mean by

in the "Manage access" modal, JohnDoe is still being listed as a member, but with the "member" option selected...

Still being listed? Was John Doe a member before being made a manager?

The scenario I've tried reproducing it was a simple one with two users from the same tenancy, perhaps with a more complex scenario I can understand what is happening.

Hi Miguel,

I wrote this e-mail based on what was explained to me... and I later found that this scenario was actually happening to me with just one group (well, as far as I can tell... I haven't checked all of them) so let's keep on with my own case.

> I created a group G1 (I therefore was the sole manager then)
> I added other collaborators to that group as MANAGERS
> We all added/updated content to that group
> There is nothing in the activity feed indicating that one of the managers decided to add/edit/revoke users' rights for that group
>  And now, what I open up the "Manage Access" modal of the group, it's listing me as a "MEMBER" (instead of having the "MANAGER" option selected) ... but I still have the right to change/revoke the rights of the other collaborators so I definitely still have the "manager" rights on that group...
> Even if I try to change the option to "Manager" and save, whenever I open up that modal again, I'm still being listed as a "MEMBER"...
> Note: When I look at the "Members' page of that group, I'm listed there as well... but with the "MANAGER" tag...

TL;DR When in some groups, in the "Manage access" modal, I'm tagged as "MEMBER" even though I'm still a MANAGER of that group...

Best
