This annual gathering brings together leaders, innovators, and practitioners in the open source community to explore its impact across various sectors, including higher education.
This year's conference features two workshops especially relevant to those working with open initiatives in academia:
Workshop: Expanding Open Source Software Research in Higher Education
Explore
the findings from the 2024 Open Source Software in Higher Ed (OSSHE)
pilot survey and help shape the next phase of this vital research. We'll
discuss how to increase participation, improve data quality, and deepen
our understanding of the role of open source within institutions.
Workshop: Open Source AI and Higher Education – Responding to the OSAID
Join
us in examining the Open Source Initiative's new Open Source AI
Definition (OSAID v1.0) and its implications for teaching, research, and
academic innovation. Your input will help ensure that open AI tools
remain ethical, transparent, and accessible to all.
Whether you're involved in IT, policy, research, or teaching, these sessions offer a unique opportunity to collaborate with peers, contribute to important initiatives, and advance open source in higher education.
