Allowing alternate identifiers for username

Is there a way to allow for different formats for username in CAS?  For example, we have had some users ask if username@domain could be accepted as well as the usual username to eliminate confusion.

If your backend is ldap you can do some tricks with ldap filter. For example:

cas.authn.ldap[0].userFilter=(|(uid={user})(&(!(uid=*))(|(mail={user}@mail2.domain)(mail={user}@mail.domain))))
