DotNetCasClient to Cas 5.0.x using ClearPass question

Is it possible to interface DotNetCasClient to Cas 5.0.x using ClearPass? Cas 5.0.x is using CAS protocol 3 however DotNetCasClient is Cas protocol 2. We are in the process of converting from Cas 4.0.3 to Cas 5 and making a proxy request to Cas 5 for ClearPass is no longer an option. Does anyone know of a workaround?
