Dear Alice,

Thank you for reaching out. I’d like to clarify that the Apereo Foundation is not a company providing authentication services directly. We are a non-profit open source foundation that develops and maintains CAS (Central Authentication Service) software, which universities and other institutions may choose to implement.

In your case, the CAS login page you are seeing is managed entirely by your former university (or by the publication websites you are attempting to access through institutional login). Apereo itself does not operate or manage these login systems, and we do not have the ability to uninstall or remove them from your computer.

The best next step is to contact the helpdesk or IT support team for the website or institution where you are encountering the login prompt. They will be able to confirm whether your account access can be updated, removed, or adjusted, and provide instructions for restoring normal browsing access.

I’m sorry we can’t provide more direct assistance here, but I hope this clarification helps point you in the right direction.

Best regards,
Patrick

Dear Apereo Team

I'm a PhD student and I recently changed universities. In my old University, I had an academic email and a login to scientific academic publication sites (i.e. springer, web of science, etc) via Apereo CAS that was installed by a technician on my computer, in my chrome account on my macbook. It worked perfectly.

However, as I no longer have the institutional account, I cannot login anymore. Everytime when I go to search papers online, I get blocked by the institutional login page. Therefore, I'd kindly ask you to help me in uninstalling the Apereo Cas so I can continue to visualize and navigate internet and online literature normally without the Apereo Login page blocked by searches (see below for the screenshot).

Please, I really appreciate your help, as I don't have coding experience. I need to urgently solve this issue to continue my research projects without this happening.

Looking forward for your reply,

Alice Sá
