How do I enable encryption of attributes

Rookie question....

How do I enable/disable encryption of individual attributes? encryptAssertions works fine for encrypting the assertion. But I'm looking to only encrypt the attribute value. Not the whole assertion.

Not a rookie question at all. I don't think encrypted attributes are supported, individually or not. You will likely need to put together code that does that for you using OpenSAML and related CAS components.
