CAS build and deploy on local

Dear Support,

I want to build and deploy IDP server code at my local env (Using eclipse).

I cloned the branch:  https://github.com/apereo/cas.git cas-server. Is it the right branch/URL to work with IDP server for SAML 2 SSO authentication functionality go through?

Please suggest.

Hi Amit,

I think the best would be to use https://github.com/apereo/cas-overlay-template and check https://apereo.github.io/cas/6.0.x/protocol/SAML-Protocol.html#saml-protocol

Thanks a lot dear for the guidance.

I have few more quick queries:

1. Is CAS supports authentication using RDBS (database) rather than LDAP in case SAML2 auth.

2. It provide some UI at IDP side to generate metadata for specific SP?

3. Is it provide user management UI at IDP side to add users credential so that these users can be authenticated by IDP?

4. We have around 1000+ users and few of them using OKTA for SSO. Can we replace OKTA by CAS for SAML authentication.

5. If CAS need some changes as per client requirement can we do it  by cloning the code base at local and redeploy it again on server? or from your side some assistance is available related to it.

Answers of the above queries will be highly appreciated and helpful to me.

1. authentication is independent of transfer protocol, so yes.

3. Users must be added with a different tool.

4. I would think yes

5. To add a feature, add components to the build file and settings to properties and redeploy
