CAS 4.2.3 CORS configuration - Preflight response is not successful

I am in need to configure CORS for CAS 4.2.3, and cannot find the documentation I need for CORS.

Finding lots of information for 5.x and 6.x but not 4.x.

Current issue may not even be related to CORS, but I think so.

Intermittantly, AJAX requests fail.

Error message on clients browser:

"XMLHttpRequest cannot load: https://x.x.x.x/cas/login?service=https%3A%2F%2Fdomain..." due to access control checks.

"Failed to load resource: Preflight response is not successful"
