CAS ERROR

Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with CAS authentication when trying to access a Moodle platform that uses CAS Single Sign-On through the Greek School Network.

After entering my username and password, the login appears to be successful. However, instead of being redirected back to the Moodle service, I either receive a CAS error page or a blank/black page. In some cases, the message displayed is:

"You have successfully logged into the Central Authentication Service. However, CAS does not know about your target destination and how to get you there."

This issue started after I accidentally enabled a very long "remember me" session. Since then I cannot access the Moodle platform from any device (computer or mobile), browser, or network.

I have already tried the following:

  • Clearing cookies and cache

  • Using different browsers

  • Trying different devices and networks

  • Logging out of CAS sessions

The authentication itself appears to succeed, but the redirect back to the service fails.

Could this be related to a stuck CAS session or an issue with the remember-me cookie?

Isabela,

Can you set 'remember me' to a shorter time (or turn it off)?

Use browser developer tools to see network traffic and cookies to be sure that all authentication and redirects are happening as expected.

Do other users experience the same problems?

If you have logged out and cleared cookies, there should be no lingering session to confound things.
