Dear Apereo Community,

We’re delighted to share some exciting news — the Apereo Foundation is partnering with the Eclipse Foundation’s Open Community Experience (OCX) to co-host The Open Community for Research, a two-day event co-located at OCX 2026, taking place April 21–23, 2026 in Brussels, Belgium.

This gathering will bring together academic researchers, public institutions, and industry experts to explore how open source accelerates the translation of research into practical, scalable technologies. It’s an inspiring opportunity to connect with people from around the world who share our belief that collaboration and openness are the foundations of lasting innovation.

Apereo remains devoted to nurturing spaces where open source communities can come together — to share knowledge, support one another, and build resilient networks. Events like OCX in Europe and SCaLE in the U.S. embody this spirit, reminding us that our greatest progress comes from working together, leveraging the strong foundation and deep expertise our community has cultivated over the years.

For the first time, Apereo will anchor The Open Community for Research at OCX, highlighting how open collaboration turns scientific ideas into sustainable, production-ready solutions. We’re eager to showcase the remarkable work being done across our community — and we hope you’ll join us there.
