Hello all,

OpenForum Europe has joined forces with a number of universities as well as OSI and the Open Knowledge Foundation to grow and connect the research community that studies open source's economic and political impact.

Below is a CFP for the upcoming OpenForum Academy Symposium 2025 in Brazil.

Best,
patrick

The Call for Proposal for the OFA Symposium 2025 in Brazil is now live!

The OFA Symposium 2025 will take place on 18-19 November in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Themed “Open Technology Impact in Uncertain Times”, it will expand the scope of the OFA Symposium to embrace and highlight the diverse range of open technologies contributing to and impacting society, politics, and the economy.

The Call for Proposals is now open on the new Symposium website until 1 June. For this year, we are encouraging those responding to the Call for Proposals (CfP) to submit papers or presentations across four key themes. Participants are welcome to submit a paper or presentation that does not fall into one of these broad themes or sub-themes, but it may not be prioritised for inclusion in the final programme.
  • Track #1 – Economic Impact of Open
  • Track #2 – Open Technologies and Geopolitics
  • Track #3 – Sustainability and Security
  • Track #4 – Open Source and AI
To learn more information, submit a paper for the CfP, and register for the event, head on over to the Symposium website.
