Dear Apereo Members,

I am writing to invite you to join us for the upcoming Open edX Conference 2026, taking place May 19-22 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This year’s conference promises to be a pivotal gathering for the open-source education community. We are especially excited to feature a range of sessions and discussions that align with our shared commitment to digital public infrastructure, including:

  • May 19th

    • A featured workshop by the Digital Credentials Consortium (DCC) on the future of digital credentials, leveraging open standards and open source technology.

  • On May 20th,

    • A keynote address by Frank Nagle, exploring the intersections of technology, strategy, and open source.

    • A timely national upskilling panel, highlighting innovative strategies for workforce development that scale through open source innovation.

    • The "Leadership Roundtable: Catalyzing an Open Source Renaissance in Higher Education," a session with Patrick Masson (Executive Director, Apereo Foundation), Troy Davis (CIO, Western Governors University), Kate Valenti (CEO, Unicon), and Ed Zarecor (VP of Engineering at Open edX/Axim Collaborative) dedicated to discussing how open-source platforms can serve as foundational public infrastructure for learning.

We believe your participation and perspective would be invaluable as we work to advance these initiatives. You can find more information about the conference agenda and registration on our website at https://con.openedx.org/.

We look forward to seeing you in Salt Lake City!
