This is a friendly nudge and a little encouragement: Apereo Board nominations for the 2026 election cycle will be opening soon.

Have you been thinking, “Someone should nominate them…”
Or maybe even, “Maybe I could do that…”

This is your early sign.

Serving on the Apereo Board is a meaningful way to support the future of open source in higher education, help shape Foundation priorities, and collaborate with thoughtful people from across our global community.

You may wish to start thinking now about nominating:

• Someone you admire in the community

• A colleague who cares deeply about openness

• Yourself (yes, really)

One helpful reminder: if you’re considering nominating someone else, it’s always a good idea to check with them first to be sure they’d be willing to serve.

Official nomination details and submission instructions will be shared soon.

Sometimes the best community leaders need a little nudge of encouragement before they step forward. If someone comes to mind, now is the perfect time to start the conversation.
