Sobre grupos creados por Sakai

¡Buenas a todos/as!

Vengo a consultarles una situación que surgió en un worksite de proyecto, creado para ofrecer un curso de 8 semanas. Trabajamos con la versión de 2021 de la plataforma Sakai.

El curso permite la matricula (adición de alumno en el worksite) a cualquier momento. Entonces para los alumnos que son adicionados en un mismo día es creado un grupo. Así podemos controlar la duración del curso para cada grupo. 

Entre las actividades del curso está la realización de un ejercicio por semana.

Todo funciona muy bien.

PERO observamos que la plataforma crea grupos con el nombre “Acesso: Exercício ….”, o sea grupos con prefijo “Acesso” (en portugués, nuestra lengua) y a seguir el nombre de un ejercicio. 

En ese grupo la plataforma adiciona a todos los alumnos que realizaron ese ejercicio.

• Interesante que la plataforma no crea un grupo para todos los ejercicios. En el caso que describo no fue creado para el ejercicio 1, 2 e 3, solo para los siguientes.

No entendemos que causa la creación de esos grupos. Pues no se crean en todos los worksites ni para todos los ejercicios de un mismo worksite.

Entonces, venimos a consultar a ustedes si han tenido esta situación y como “esconder” esos grupos que aparecen en todos los recursos de la plataforma que trabajan con grupos. Por ejemplo, en la lista de notas, en participantes, etc., aparecen en el menú para escoger un grupo.

¿Ustedes han tenido situaciones asi?

¿Como esconder estos grupos?

¿Pueden excluirse sin traer problemas para las funcionalidades del worksite?

The Access: groups are created by the Lessons tool when you have an item set to not be released until the required prerequisites are completed.

If you have Exercise 1, Exercise 2, and/or Exercise 3 set as required and Exercise 4 set to not release until the prerequisites are completed, the system will add students to Access: Exercise 4 when they complete the required items above it. The groups are necessary for using the prerequisite logic. 

The screenshot below shows one of our sites that use the prerequisite logic, so this site always has a group Access: CCP Quiz. 

We're using Sakai 23, so there are some differences, but there may be a way to hide the group in Messages, within the Settings page, if students are seeing it. Beyond that, I think the other group selections are only visible to instructors, so I'd just tell them to ignore any that say Access. The only way to remove them would be to remove the prerequisite logic.

Christina,
I understand. We're using prerequisites. That explains the situation.
But, a question arises: on other sites where we also use prerequisites, the "Access" groups aren't created.

I'm very grateful for your message. It was very helpful in confirming that it's not our fault.
For our own control, it would be great to be able to hide these groups. But we can't find a way to do that.
