Hi all,

I forgot which Sakai list is the one that goes out to providers (EDF, Longsight, Unicon, etc.), but wanted to share this. Maybe there is a Sakai school with a professional development group that could reply and point to the Sakai project and the providers?

Hope this helps,
Patrick

Subject: Technology Platforms for Executive Education/Non-Credit Program Management - Seeking Community Insights

Hello Educause Community,

I'm Amy Slack, Associate Director of IT Solutions at Wake Forest School of Professional Studies. Our executive education and non-credit programs are experiencing significant growth, which is fantastic! However, this growth has highlighted some of our manual processes that are becoming increasingly unsustainable.

We're looking to streamline and automate our program management workflow, encompassing everything from participant communication and registration to learning material delivery, surveys, and post-program engagement. Specifically, we're interested in platforms that handle:

  • Managing Participants and Communication (for Open Enrollment): Email campaigns, notifications, and personalized messaging.
  • Managing Corporate Partners: We have many for Custom Offerings that are with corporate partners and need to more cleanly manage those relationships and their specific participants.
  • Sign-Up and Registration: Online forms, payment processing, and enrollment management.
  • Learning Material Management: Digital content delivery, access control, and resource organization. <-- We are using Canvas so ideally want to stick with this aspect if possible but we do have lots of in person offerings, especially in our Custom Offerings so Canvas isn't always used)
  • Program Management: Scheduling, attendance tracking, instructor management and reporting.
  • Post-Program Engagement: Marketing for future offerings and continued communication.

We're particularly interested in hearing about your experiences with platforms that offer a balance between functionality and affordability. While we recognize the power of robust CRMs, we're looking for solutions that won't break the bank.

We'd love to hear from you:

  • What technology platforms are you using to manage your executive education and non-credit programs?
  • What specific features do you find most valuable?
  • What are the pros and cons of your current setup? What do you like, and what do you wish you could change?
  • Are there any affordable or mid-range platforms that you would suggest for programs that are scaling up?

Your insights and recommendations would be invaluable as we explore options to enhance our program management capabilities.

Thank you in advance for your time and expertise!

Best regards,

Amy Slack

Hi Patrick,

Just FYI - Wake Forest used to be a Sakai institution (and a Longsight Client) but they elected to migrate to Canvas about 4 or 5 years ago. We participated in a lengthy RFP process with them, but Sakai lost out to Canvas. Given that they chose to migrate away from Sakai, I'm not sure if there would be much interest in returning to the community for their professional development offerings.
